About this opportunity
The Helmut-Schmidt-Programme is a fully funded DAAD scholarship that prepares future leaders from developing and emerging countries for careers in public service, governance, and policy. The programme funds selected master's degrees at participating German universities in fields related to public policy, law, economics, administration, peace and conflict studies, and development. Scholars receive comprehensive financial support, participate in German language training before beginning their studies, and are expected to apply the knowledge gained toward promoting democratic governance and sustainable development in their home countries
Requirements
- Must be a graduate with a first university degree (Bachelor's or equivalent).
- Degree should generally have been obtained within the last six years.
- Must be from an eligible developing or emerging country listed by DAAD.
- Must demonstrate above-average academic performance.
- Must have strong social and political engagement.
- Must show commitment to contributing to the social, political, and economic development of their home country.
- Applicants may apply to a maximum of two participating master's programmes.
- Must meet the admission requirements of the selected university programme(s).
- Applications must be submitted directly to the participating university/universities
