About this opportunity

un/fund 04 is an international funding initiative designed to support underrepresented, unrepresented, and emerging lens-based visual artists worldwide. The program seeks photographers, filmmakers, cinematographers, directors, and videographers who have strong creative ideas but limited access to traditional funding and representation. The initiative provides four distinct opportunities: direct project funding, an artist residency, a publishing award, and a year-long mentorship. Requirements

Career Stage - Have no more than 7 years of professional experience. Representation Status - Not be represented by: - An agency - A gallery Artistic Practice - Work primarily in lens-based media: - Photography - Film - Video - Cinematography Language - Submit application materials in English. Required Application Materials Applicants must submit: 1. Project proposal describing: - Originality of the idea - Intended final outcome 2. Supporting materials: - Up to 20 images - Relevant text materials 3. Project timeline: - Development milestones - Production schedule 4. Budget breakdown 5. Funding suitability statement explaining why the project aligns with un/fund's mission. 6. For the Publishing Award: - Up to 40 images may be submitted. Selection Criteria Judges look for: - Originality - Strong visual storytelling - Creative potential - Feasibility of the project - Alignment with the mission of supporting underrepresented artists - Potential impact on artistic development.
