Soundcinema Düsseldorf 2026 is the eighth edition of an international recorded-sound festival dedicated to experimental, electronic, and electroacoustic music. Organized by Sonische Interferenzen e.V., the festival treats sound recordings as autonomous artistic works and presents selected pieces in an immersive acousmatic listening environment at FFT Düsseldorf. The 2026 edition invites submissions under two categories: - Free Category - Thematic Focus 2026: "Acceleration" The festival seeks works that challenge conventional listening experiences and explore sound as an artistic medium

Applicants may submit: - Musical compositions. - Soundscapes. - Sound collages. - Sonic experiments. - Narrative audio formats. - Technoid productions. Technical Requirements - Stereo or multichannel audio up to 7.1. - Sample rate: 44.1–48 kHz. - Minimum resolution: 16-bit. - Loudness approximately −23 LUFS. - Multi-channel works must be submitted as individual tracks, not surround bounces. 2026 Theme: "Acceleration" Works may explore acceleration as: - Sonic phenomena. - Structural processes. - Temporal transformations. - Cultural and social experiences. Artists are encouraged to investigate acceleration as an aesthetic and form-generating force rather than merely a technical parameter. Required Materials Applicants should provide: 1. Audio files. 2. Category designation (Free Category or Acceleration). 3. Technical specifications. 4. File naming indicating stereo or multichannel format. Preference is given to works created in 2025–2026 and previously unpublished pieces. Selection Criteria The jury evaluates submissions based on: - Originality. - Artistic quality. - Innovation. - Sound experimentation. - Ability to challenge conventional listening practices. - Relevance to the 2026 theme (for themed submissions).
