About this opportunity
The Getty Villa Scholar Grants support established researchers and professionals undertaking advanced research on the art, archaeology, history, and cultures of the ancient Mediterranean. Scholars spend between three and nine months in residence at the Getty Villa in Los Angeles, where they receive financial support, access to Getty's research collections, and opportunities to collaborate with an international community of scholars. The 2027–2028 cycle remains open for the Getty Villa even though the Getty Research Institute Scholars Program at the Getty Center is paused due to the Center's temporary closure
Requirements

- Must propose a research project related to the annual Getty Villa theme.
- Must submit a project proposal in English.
- Must provide a current curriculum vitae (CV).
- Optional writing sample may be submitted.
- Previous Getty residential grant recipients must observe the required waiting period before reapplying.
