Pathways to Enable Secure Open-Source Ecosystems (PESOSE)

The PESOSE programme funds organisations that are building sustainable, secure open-source ecosystems around research software, hardware, AI models, datasets, and digital infrastructure. Rather than funding individual software projects alone, the programme supports long-term governance, community building, cybersecurity improvements, and translation of research outputs into widely adopted open-source technologies.

- Applicant must be an eligible U.S.-based institution. - Eligible applicants include: - Accredited U.S. universities and colleges. - U.S.-based nonprofit research organisations. - U.S.-based for-profit organisations (including small businesses). - State and local government entities. - Eligible federally funded research and development centres. - Proposal must fit one of the three PESOSE tracks. - Proposal must be submitted through the NSF proposal system before the deadline
