About this opportunity
The Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative, now known as the Rolex Mentoring Programme, is a prestigious international arts mentorship program established by Rolex in 2002. It pairs emerging artists with world-renowned masters in their disciplines for a two-year creative relationship. The aim is to preserve artistic heritage through intergenerational collaboration and cultural exchange.
Requirements
✅ Emerging Artist
Applicants must be:
Promising early- or mid-career artists.
Demonstrate exceptional creative potential.
Show commitment to their discipline.

Interdisciplinary Arts
✅ Nomination-Based Selection
Young artists cannot apply directly.
Instead:
Independent nominating panels identify candidates.
Selected candidates are invited to submit applications.
Finalists meet the mentor.
The mentor chooses the protégé.
✅ Availability
Selected protégés must:
Participate actively during the two-year mentorship.
Spend at least six weeks working with their mentor, though many spend much more time together.

Participants should be willing to:
Travel when necessary.
Collaborate across cultures and artistic traditions.
