About this opportunity
The Nature-First Innovation Lab is a 12-month accelerator created by FSD Africa to support African enterprises whose business models generate revenue directly from protecting or restoring biodiversity. Unlike most climate accelerators, NFIL focuses on commercially viable businesses where nature-positive products or services—not carbon credits—are the primary source of income. Selected ventures receive intensive business support and introductions to investors focused on sustainable finance
Requirements
- Legally registered business operating in Africa.
- Business model must produce measurable biodiversity or ecosystem benefits.
- Revenue should come primarily from nature-positive products or services.
- Founder or senior executive must participate throughout the programme.
- Demonstrated commercial potential and ability to scale.
- Willingness to engage with investors and provide business data.
